My computer running Windows 2000 sometimes gets really
slow. It takes at least 30-40 seconds before it reacts on
anything like a mouse click, if at all. But CPU load is
a10% or lower, no process is using the CPU, according to
task manager. The disk is not moving.
When I then logoff or shutdown the computer, I always get a
message that process "WMS Idle" cannot be shut down. I
found that this process seems to be "Windows Messaging
System Idle", probably th program showing the little
envelope when new emails arrive. I am using Outloook 2000.
Any ideas what could bring the computer to this situation
where it does not react but without a heavy CPU load?
Thanks,
Frank
