I will be on my computer and my system just shuts down
without warning. Also, I can't turn it off with the turn
off icon. When I click on it, it does nothing. I am
running XP home and it turns off when don't want it to
and doesn't turn off when I want it to. Help!

Hello!
have you checked the power management>Open Control
Panel>Double click Power Options>Here you check the turning
off period of hard disks > set it to "never">Ok>reboot

Otherwise if there is any fault in the system and you want
to be sure what it is:
Right click on "My Computer" icon
properties>Advanced>Startup and Recovery>settings>under
system failure uncheck the box with a dialog "Automatically
Restarts">ok>reboot.
Now you will be able to see the error if there is any.
