computer slowdown & error msg.

I built a computer using a AsusP4G8X motherboard, 2G of
memory and an intel 3.3g Pentium 4 processor.

In the last month it has slowed down loading programs. I
have used diognostics and checked every aspect of the
computer and everything checks out.

Last night I tried to use a program moving program to
rearange one of my drives and each time I try I get
a "stack overflow" error message.

Anyone have an idea of what I need to check next?

.
Set your Virtual Memory to 1 1/2 (one and a half) times
your RAM or at least at 512mb. Go to:
Start > ControlPanel > Performance and Maintenance >
System > Advanced tab > Performance > Settings tab >
Performance Options > Advanced tab > Virtual Memory >
"Change" tab reset your mb > Apply > OK

There's no way he'd ever need a 3gig virtual memory setting, 512 I could
see.

The better question would be what moving program is he trying to use to
re-arrange files on his drive. Does he have a virus? Spyware?
