Hello

My laptop computer had a bad hard drive, which I
replaced. I loaded windows back onto the hard drive.
Now, when my computer is on, it freezes up and I can only
turn it off and back on by turning off the computer
manually. The ctrl-alt-del keys do not work. Does anyone
have a suggestion for this problem? I am unable to do a
windows update from the tools menu as the computer shuts
down before the download is complete.

Thanks

I'm sorry to tell you that it sounds from here like you have more
hardware issues. Time to take the laptop back to the shop. Laptops are
much harder to troubleshoot regarding hardware issues than desktops.
You could try testing the RAM (www.memtest86.com).
