Computer shuts down when I run windows Update KB 890830

Can someone plese help me solve this problem?

Everytime I try to install the windows update "Windows Malicious
Software Removal Tool KB 890830" the computer shuts down. I suspect
there is something about my system which is conflicting with this
update but how can I resolve this issue?

Is there any way of installing this update without the computer shuting
down?

You might check your event logs for clues.....and mention more about the
symptoms, such as what the shutdown looks like (abrupt, etc).

Setting aside the Malicious Software Tool for now, what is the
virus/malware status of the machine? It may be that the machine is
infected already and that's the malware's response to being removed.
The Malware Removal Tool is a narrowly focused tool that looks for
relatively few infectors anyway. It certainly shouldn't be relied upon
for computer cleanliness.
