computer runs slowly

Help! My computer has started to run at a snail's pace! I have run spybot
and ad-aware and found no spyware. I have run norton antivirus and found no
virus, trojan or the like. I have run disk cleanup and defrag to no avail. As
far as I can tell, there are no programs running surreptitiously in the
backround. I am out of ideas! Help!! Why is my computer running so slowly?
 
Hi Naomi...

Have you gone into Msconfig to see what programs might be running at startup?
If not, then go to "Start", then "run", then type: msconfig
Go to the startup tab, and uncheck any programs that you don't need to start
up when you power up your computer. Then click "ok", and restart.
