compuetr running slowly

Help! My computer has started to run at a snail's pace! I have run spybot
and ad-aware and found no spyware. I have run norton antivirus and found no
virus, trojan or the like. I have run disk cleanup and defrag to no avail. As
far as I can tell, there are no programs running surreptitiously in the
backround. I am out of ideas! Help!! Why is my computer running so slowly?

Naomi, do you have a lot of programs running in the background. Go to
Start>Run type: msconfig Select Startup Tab
and see what you have running there.
