I have recently been having a problem with my pc where it will randomly
simply reboot. It doesn't shut down before rebooting, it goes directly
from the windows desktop to the bios load screen where it runs back
through the reboot. It doesn't seem to do it at any specific time and
has done it as soon as a minute of starting to up to hours after
starting.
I have been having some trouble with my computer lately in general,
after my first power supply's intake fan broke, then the replacement
power supply blew, and now I am having this problem. The computer is a
Pentium 4 Dual Core (3.0 ghz), PCI-E, two SATA harddrives, 1 Gig of
Dual Channel RAM, and a 600w Powork power supply (the same model each
time). The computer is about 6-7 months old, the first power supply
lasted for the full 6 months before the fan began to stop functioning
correctly. The second power supply lasted about 2-3 weeks before it
blew (or at least stopped working. When I turned it on one day it made
a loud whirling noise before the system simply shut off and would not
restart. Although sometimes the LED's in the case would turn on for
maybe half a second when I would press the power button).
Do you know what could be causing the restart problems? Is it possibly
connected to the various power supply problems I have been having? The
support department at the retailer has given me multiple possiblities
for the power supply problems ranging from bad Motherboard to bad home
wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
