Computer on network won't connect to router...but !

Recently my 2 computer network w Belkin 4 port Router and
broadband modem began giving me trouble. One of the
profiles on one of the computers will not access the
internet, even though I have checked the settings and they
match the settings of the profile that works flawlessly.
I just don't get it. I tried creating a new profile and
it also does not have a connection. I do have firewall
disabled and I have updated to SP2. The problems existed
before SP2 upgrade and after. I had hoped SP2 would
correct my probs....alas...it was not to be.
Does this sound like a virus or Spyware crap. I scanned
with Norton although the definitions may have been a week
old, and found no infection. Man I hate this crap!!! Any
ideas please
