Computer not licensed for Access

D

Dick Herzfeld

Suddenly, my XP operating system has decided my Access
program running under Office 97 professional is not
licensed for my computer.

It had been running fine, until I loaded Access from Office
2000 professional. FOr a time, I could use both of them.

Now, nomatter what I do, the Office 97 version won't run.
I've de-installed boty Office 2000 and Office 97 and
reinstalled 97, to no avail.

HELP! I still need 97, because when I convert some
databases, VB6 won't recognize them.

Hi Dick,

Gina and Kevin have already pointed you to KB articles to fix the relatively common "There Is No
License" error message. I shortened the links that Gina provided, so that word wrap would not
break them.

You indicated "HELP! I still need 97, because when I convert some databases, VB6 won't recognize
them." I suspect that you may not have the latest service packs installed for Visual Studio 6.
It should be possible to get VB6 to read databases in the Access 2000 format. Here are some
additional KB articles that you might want to check out:

PRB: Error "Unrecognized Database Format" When You Upgrade to Access 2000 or 2002

FIX: Error Message "Cannot Find Installable ISAM" After Installing Localized Versions of Visual
Basic 6.0 Service Pack 4
