Computer keeps freezing

My computer keeps freezing the hard drive makes a noise like its doing
something but i am not doing anything and eventually i have to reboot. Then
it says CCAPP not responding and Browser not responding, anyone got any ideas

So much stuff working in the background its not funny. For example Media
Player automatic update check and even a service that wants to adjust your
clock. And then theres file indexing and lets make a restore point right
about here.

Personnaly I spend more time reading about switch for this and switch for
that than actualy using my machine for me.
