Hello,
I have the following problem: when one of computers in my home network
changes his state (turns on/off)
the second one automatically turns on. How can I cancel this?
Thank you
Evgeny

Use log off, not shut down. There should be a message box that appears to
read something like: others users are logged on, etc. You can also opt to
prevent shut down via gpedit/registry.

Hello, Kelly
Thank you very much for your answer. It seems that I did not explain my
problem clear enough, so I do it now:

I have 2 computers in network.

Situation A: The first is in state on and the second is in state off. Now I
turns off the first one. Immediately the second one turns on automatically.

Situation B: The first is in state off and the second is in state off. Now
I turns on the first one. Immediately the second one turns on automatically.

How can I prevent to this reaction of the second computer? I don't want it
to turn on automatically.
Thank you
Evgeny

I'm not sure about Situation A, but for Situation B look in its BIOS for
any Wake On LAN type of settings and disable them. Perhaps that will
solve Situation A, also.

Thank you. I am sorry but I don't find options "wake on lan" in my bios. All
I see is
PME Event Up (Enabled)
and
AMR Event Up (Enabled).
Coudl you give me more details?

PME Event Up is a Wake On LAN setting, so disable it. See if that solves
the problem. I don't find anything about "AMR Event Up", so assuming
you spelled it correctly, look in your motherboard manual or on the
motherboard mftr.'s website for the meaning of that setting. I would
see if disabling PME Event Up takes care of both your scenarios and if
it does, leave the rest of your BIOS settings alone.

Disable PME Event UP. That's Wake on LAN. See
http://support.intel.com/support/network/sb/CS-008459.htm

I'm not sure about AMR Event UP, but if the PME Event Up change
doesn't fix your problem, you could experiment with disabling
this too.

Tnank you very much, Malke and Ken. I disabled PME Event Up and it really
helped: now the second computer
doesn't react on shut down or turning on of the first one. Also I should
note that before that I found Wake on lan option
and disabled it on both computers but this did not help. But now all is ok
Best regards
Evgeny
