Hello.
I changed to windows XP and some games (Dungeon Siege,
Rise of Nations) just stop working after a couple of
minutes playing and the computer halts and I need to make
reset. I updated with SP1, and the new drives for the
nVidia but I still have the problem. Can someone help me?

Did you do an update over a previous operating system, Alberto? If so, I
would highly recommend a clean install by formatting the hard drive and then
install Windows XP. If that's not the case, methodically go through all
your hardware (including motherboard and BIOS) to make sure you've got the
latest drivers for everything installed.

You can also take a look in Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer,
click on the Application listing in the left panel and then look for yellow
exclamation marks or red circles with white X's in them. These are
indicators of errors on the system, and you can right-click each error line,
select Properties and it will give you an indication of what went wrong.

Thirdly, make sure you're running the updates for each of the programs
you're having problems with. I know Dungeon Siege is up to version
1.11.1462 (English only) currently.

Chris is correct and a clean install will ensure system integrity. However,
you can also run a check of your system files by clicking start, run, type
sfc /scannow. Have your Windows XP cd available. Should that also fail to
resolve your problems then please adher to Chris's advice.
