Computer Freezes when accessing network places

Everytime I try to access network places or network connections from the
control panel it freezes up and says that its not responding. I have to end
up ending the task. Anyone else having the same problem. I figured SP2 would
have fixed it but it hasn't.
 
If you are on a network, verify your IP address scheme matches the network.
Make sure the lights on your network card are lit (meaning a connection is
made)
Make sure your workgroup name, or domain name is spelled correctly.
If the workgroup name is correct, change it to something else, reboot,
change it back, and reboot again.
