computer crash after insatlling KB840987

my XP pro insall automaticlly security update 840987
after the insallation when I click right mouse button or try to delete
files, my computer crash.
how can I fix it so I can re-install the update , and the computer will work
properly?

Under pick a task choose Undo changes to your computer with System Restore
Restore your system to before you installed the update

I must be one of the lucky ones on this update. Just to
be on the safe side, though, I imaged my hard drive
before installing all of the Oct 13th updates. Then
I installed all but 840987, did an incremental image,
and then tried 840987 by itself. This was done with
the custom install option, not the express install.
It went flawlessly for me (XP SP1 - I don't think the
same can be said in my case for SP2, which is why
I haven't installed it), with none of the reported
problems I've read about.
