Computer Continuously Rebooting

I have a machine that has recently started to continuously reboot
itself. Performing a system restore didn't help. I decided to
reformat the hard drive and do a clean install. The drive format
succeeded. Most of the install was completed, but the computer started
rebooting again before it could finish.

I have tried switching out my RAM, but that didn't help. Any ideas or
suggestions as to why I am caught in a rebboting loop?

make sure CPU fan is working, a bad CPU fan will cause
this.

You may be infected with one of the Sasser worms. Check

Sounds like a hardware issue. Possibly a bad CPU, motherboard or power
supply. Boot off a DOS diskette and see if you can run some diagnostics.

Not if the machine still fails part way through a re-install!

My money is on a dead fan and overheating.

First off, thanks to everyone who replied.

I'm thinking its a hardware issue too. This started happening before
the 'Sasser' worm came out...or at least before it was identified.
The machine runs POST diagnostics at startup, but no errors are
reported. I guess I'm going to have to go at it piece by piece. :-(
