How would I compress the registry? Is it the same as win98? Importing
and exporting the files ?

I use NTREGOPT. Recommended, and safe.

I understand I've used it occasionally myself. But there's a way of
compressing even better. Export the required main hive keys especially the
one that carries the regedit identifier. Then delete the registry files they
used to be system.dat and user.dat. I don't know what they are now. Then
import the old data and you have a new compressed registry.

Recommended by the folk, like me, who use this utility, and who have taken
the trouble to answer your question. Have you heard anything to the
contrary?
