Compress Pictures in PP 2007

Nicole

I used to be able to reduce a PP Präsentation with 85 MB to 935 KB by
compressing the pictures and deactivating some tick boxes.

Now with 2007 I only have the option to save the presentation in a
compressed version with the ending of .pptx which no one except me can open
it unless they have 2007 (and not many have the new version) or unless I am
keep sending some link where they may be able to download some stuff in order
to be able to open it.

Or I save my 10 MB presentation with the format 97-2003 but then I still
have a 7MB large presentation to send via e-mail.

I start to hate 2007...cannot believe that all the great functions have been
replace with bad ones.

Can someone please tell me that I am wrong and that there is a way to
compress the presentation as I used to?!

Many thanks.

Kind regards

Nicole

you can save the presentation as a Powerpoint 97-2003 presentation with the
old extension ppt and compress the pictures as you used to do in 2003.
You find it here:
Office-button -> Save as Powerpoint 97-2003 Presentation -> Tools (in the
lower left corner) -> Compress Pictures

Hi Pia,

Thanks for your reply.

I already did what you suggested but as I mentioned in my posting
already...I still have 7MB! That is not satisfying.

Kind regards

a quick test on my laptop shrinks my presentation as usual. Did you check
the "options" if the resolution for web or e-mail is used? Probably the
compression is very bad when "printer" is chosen.
Do you have the same problem with every sort of picture?
