Component Update Question

Chris Alexander

Hello,

Is there anyway to have any of WinXPE dev tools look automatically to a
local repository (the one where the files are copied from into the DB's
repository) for updates and automatically update the component in the DB?

Thanks

You can ask Target Designer to update your configuration to the latest
components, but there isn't a way to have it upgrade without you taking an
action to do so. Some people want to stay on previous versions.

Hi, Thanks for answering, I think I was a little vague before, I understand
that target designer will update a component itself, but I'm talking about
actually importing the upgraded component into the database if a file
contained in a repository has been updated. I'm going to conclude that I
have to manually open Component Database Manager and reimport the .sld file
(with write permissions on the repository), thus overwriting the old file in
the DB's repository with the newer version.

thanks again
