Is .RAR a ZIP format? Is it indigenous to Linux?

This group may be huge but it's very quick, agile, and softhearted.

..RAR is an archive format, not indigenous to Linux.

Use WinRar (www.rarlab.com) or even WinAce (www.winace.com).

Thank you both. I downloaded the free QuickZip archiver and was able to
access the files that way. These .RAR files are programs. I was able to run
them.

Mighty WinZip couldn't open them. Boo!
