I know I've seen a chart comparing Win XP home and Win XP Professional, but
I've been to the MS XP site and and I don't see it. Can somebody point me
in the right direction? The main think I'm interested in is if IIS comes
standard with Professional or not. I'm trying to learn .NET and for some of
the lessons I need to be able to use IIS which is not supported in the home
edition.

Thanks

I can't find the comparison page either. Microsoft is changing their web
site. In any event. IIS is available with XP Pro. Not part of the
standard load, but you can install it from the CD.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

If you can get Net Server 2003 stanard.
You'll lean more, it can be set up to mirror your system
disk and you can run anything.

An academic license is about 50% off.

Otherwise get PRO and install it clean on a good disk.
Yes it has IIS. and you can add all the tools to learn
more.

IIS is in Pro (for up to 10 simultaneous connections) but not in Home.

A good account of the differences - See
http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_home_pro.asp
for the list of things that are in Pro only. In addition Pro will
support ten simultaneous connections in a network - Home only five
