comparing multiple doc files and report generation

notanoobreally

i have thousands of files that i have in double versions, i.e. there ar
many files that are double. And now, i dont know what are th
differences in the files..
Is there any way through which i can come to know the difference
between my dual documents..
I actually want to compare all the documents through a batch proces
and then want a report generated displaying the differences.

Is this possible?

I have bought all versions of MS Office, including 2003

I have tried a lot of comparison softwares available on the Internet.

1. i tried DiffDoc from SoftInterface.com .. it was good.. but it won
give other details like author and title etc. Though i really like th
way it generates the report.. That is how i want MS Office to generat
a report.. but i am not sure if DiffDoc does all this in a batc
process.. because it is very cumbersome comparing all the file
manually

2. Yes, i tried the track changes>compare tool of MSOffice.. but tha
was not much help.. Because..
(a) It does not run in a batch mode (or i have not found a way to d
that)
(b) The report it generates is not upto the mark, it would be nice if
could know the number of changes.. i have got.. yes with change
specified on every line (it does that though).. but all this in
batch.. i m not even getting a faint idea!

3. I needed the comparison done so badly.. that i saw a software on th
net called PDF-Compare/Authenticate. It boasted of generating a repor
in a batch mode.. telling all the differences...
Somehow, i failed to download the demo version (it always got stuck a
99% from an https site) but because it boasted of a batch mode an
detailed comparison i spend $250 on it!! and it all went waste!
because it was crap it just told me that the file matched or not (ye
or no.. NO DETAILS AT ALL!!!!!)...and yes my desperation for compariso
lead me to convert each and every file to a pdf and then compare..

It would really be nice if any of you could help me with a solution!!.
just a ray of light.. just a method of how to go about it..

Thanx in Advance!!!

PS : Respected MOD : I couldnt exactly figure out where to put thi
post of mine.. so putting it in a couple of topics.. :-
