Comparing Folders in XP

I need to compare two folders with multiple subfolders
and files, to identify the changed files. I've used 'My
Briefcase' in the past, it's not available in Windows XP
(unless i'm not finding it?)I realized Copy/Paste works
to identify the newer file before replacing, but it
doesn't work for the subfolders files.(It's either
replace all or none with the subfolders) Is there a
method to do this or a utility program that someone could
suggest? A sincere thank you to anyone who answers.
