Folder customisation in XP

I have XP pro, and want to customise my folder view so that it is Detail,
Alphabetic.

Whe I click on File>properties>customize all I get is a list of options that
I DONT want....

Documents (for any type of file)
Pictures (best for many files)
Photo Album (best for fewer files)
Music(...)
Music Artist (...)
Videos

If I do choose one of these however (even though I don't want it), and click
on "also apply this template to all subfolders..." then NOTHING. None of the
subfolders changes anyway.

How do I fix this very annoying "feature", and get my folders formated the
way "I" want.

Oops - found it already.....

Tools>Folder Options>View etc..
