Compaq iPaq Pocket PC H3900 Series not connecting to WMDC

Ok. Here is my problem. My iPAQ will not connect to Windows Mobile Device
Center. The iPAQ is specifically a h3950 and I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling the mobile device center and it still does not work. I am
trying to connect it through USB and establish that partnership, so that I
will be able to connect (hopefully) via Bluetooth. I can use the option of
connecting it without setting it up, but that option will not allow me to
export anything from my Windows Vista Laptop to the PDA. I'm seriously
looking at getting a Tablet Notebook, because I am a Criminal Justice student
and this PDA is supposed to be helping me, when I jot down assignments and
things like that.

I also do a lot of dog rescuing and being able to export driving directions
onto the PDA would work a lot better then dragging my laptop around, just for
the directions or writing them out on a sheet of paper.

Can anyone help me with this, or is this just a waste of my time?

3950 is Pocket PC 2002 or maybe upgraded to 2003? I may be wrong but I
think you need at least WM5 to sync with WMDC

WM5 = Windows Mobile 5, the current version is WM6. Your PDA is old and
probably not able to sync with Vista. I would suggest visiting the group
microsoft.public.pocketpc, and see if you can get some guidance.

Thanks. I will, even though it finally established a partnership this
morning and now ruined WMDC, but yet Windows Sync Center seems to say it's
connected.
