My personal folders and especially my archive folder is continuing to grow.
Being an outlook user for over five years, obviously these folders have
grown. Our office archives at the default 14 day interval, and i was
wondering anyone's experience in "compacting your folders". Especially with
the archive .pst.....what does the compacting actually do and how hard is it
to recover those files or access like i do now.
thanks
Jason

I'm sure if you search the web or Microsoft's site there will be some
information.

I think what it does is compress the "white space" out of the folder.
It's a good thing. Access is the same as before you compact.

Thanks for your response. I am a big MS Knowledge Base user and there is
really nothing on it regarding this issue. I will continue too look just to
make sure it does nothing harmful to my two .pst files.
again thanks!
