Compacting Access 97 DB

Hello:

Can anyone give me guidance on how to have an Access 97
db automatically compact on exit - or load. I know there
is a setting in Access 2000 but don't see one in 97. The
only way I've seen so far requires the user to rename the
database and that's not a good option for us. Any ideas
would be appreciated.
