Hi,

We are currently using sandisk 1GB Compact flash and CF to IDE adapter. In
addition to EWF we wanted to have phyically write protect switch for the
compact flash to avoid corruption due to power failure. Both the compact
flash and CF to IDE adapter doesn't have any write protect switch?.Can any
tell me how to do this? or is there compact flash is available with write
protect switch?. or is it possible to add the write protect switch in the CF
to IDE adapter?.

The specification of the Interface for a CF disk does not contain a hardware
WriteProtect.
You will have to stick with EWF.

We used a Secure Digital (SD) card, which is write protected. However,
I have never found one that shows up as a Fixed disk, which creates its
own problems. We wound up using Disk On Module (DOM) flash memory,
which comes in various sizes, plugs right into your motherboard IDE
socket, and has a write-protect jumper. Look here:

That's just the first Google hit I got, but you can at least see what
it looks like. These things work great -- identical speed to an
average CF card, similar price once you factor in the IDE adaptor, and
they take up less space too. We love 'em.
