comp restart during every windows update

everytime i try to update my comp, the system restarts in the middle.
can’t install explorer 7, and can’t install updates for windows media
player. i think it has something to do with the maliscious software
detection. how can i fix this prob?

Your system may be crashing and restarting automatically. This is a
feature.

To disable it, right-click on My Computer and choose Properties, then the
Advanced tab. In the Startup and Recovery section click on Settings.
Under System Failure, de-select "automatically restart". Choose OK and
apply as appropriate back to the desktop. You might want to restart.

Now, instead of just giving upand restarting, the system may show you an
error message, which you can use to figure out what the actual problem is.
