Common Preformance

Ive been trying for quite some time to make this computer run faster then it
dose now. I added a 9200 Xtacy (Redaon) 256MB PCI (not E) after it was boged
down by bugs and junk. Ive since cleaned most of the system out but it still
dosnt run to my standerds. I did have multiple problems with the drivers and
now have Omega Drivers installed. They work fine and everything seams normal.
But the fps is still not up there. Ill post specs and if there is any advice
feal free. Or if this is it then thats ok to.

2.19(2.20)ghz
756MB ram
9200 Xtacy (Redaon) 256MB PCI (not E)

The computer runs at 100% Prossesor usage while in game (counter-strike).
Few things just make me think that there is more to this computer then it
shows.

Friends computer with lesser prossing power preforms better ingame then mine.

My computer can run multiple programs IE:wma without to much damage to game
preformance (yet there is a drop in fps).

I understand i have a pci board but with a 256 9200 and 756ram I just feal
that it should get up there.

Thanks

Have you scanned for any spyware or other junkware? Spybot, Microsoft
Antispyware and Adaware all have free versions.

When playing a game the CPU should be @ 100%, it shows it's doing it's job.

What's your friends specs?

It is a very slow graphics card so don't expect good 3D performance in
modern games.

PCI Graphics cards are a thing of the past... The PCI bus lacks the raw
bandwidth to handle todays games or even games from 2-3 years ago.

If you want performance trash that PCI card and get an AGP card. I cant
imagine that 2.20Ghz system doesnt have an AGP slot.

It doesnt matter what type of PCI card you get for games in this case
because the bus limitation so bad that even an nvidia card would suck.

Get a program called: 3dmark01or 3dmark03 and you will see what i mean.

Why are you running a PCI vid card?
