common attachments to different .oft email templates

I have many different .oft email templates that each contain the same
attachments, in Microsoft Word format. The problem is sometimes I have to
update the attachment, and then I have to add the new attachment to each of
the many .oft email templates I have. Is there a way to only update the
original attachment and have all of the attachments in my .oft email
templates automatically get updated from the original?

Not without writing code to do programmatically what you're already doing manually.
