Comments feature in Word 2002

I frequently use the Comments feature in Word. In my version of Word at work the text that the comment refers to gets highlighted in yellow, so comments are easy to see. But at home a red set of parentheses is inserted around the text, and when moused over, often the text of the comment doesn't show. I don't like having to use the preview pane or the balloons feature. Is there a way to make the Comments appear like they do in other versions, or am I stuck with the way it works in Word 2002?

Hi Dana

The commenting functionality changed a lot in Word 2002, and few would
say the changes are for the better. No, you can't make it work like Word
2000 comments.

One thing is important, however. In Word 2002, the "range" covered by
those parentheses is the text that was selected when you chose Insert >
Comment. If you have selected no text, it's very difficult to see the
parentheses, and very difficult to mouse over it to see the comment. So
get into the habit of always selecting at least one Word before
inserting the comment. This particular bug was fixed for Word 2003.

Hope this helps.
