I used one extensively, as my main home printer for a couple years. It is a
very nice printer. Pros/Cons as I saw them:

Pro:
Network capability (wired and wireless, but I only used the wired)
Excellent speed and print quality
Large paper trays - includes standard 150 page and extra 250 page tray
Double sided prints, including automatic two sided copying
Camera card slots, and can crop and zoom from the front panel
Can scan from the scanner directly to a camera card
Uses large HP 96/97 cartridges, >800 pages black per cart
Reliable

Con:
A bit large, especially with the extra 250 sheet tray installed
Duplexing issues in Vista (but I have a patch available, email me)
Some users have difficulty installing - follow the setup guide for trouble
free installation. Need to install the software before connecting the
cables.

The 7410 is similar to the 7310, except the 7310 does not include the second
paper tray and does not do double sided copying. (The 7310 does automatic
two sided printing.) The 7310 also does not include the wireless networking
built in.

I only stopped using the Officejet 7410 when I retired and had to return my
home loan materials. I bought an HP Photosmart 2610 to replace it. This is
a similar printer to the 7310 but does not include the automatic document
feeder.

But you are an HP EMPLOYEE so we would not expect you to use anything
else. I am not saying it is not a good printer nor am I saying it is
but what you say about the HP stuff is akin to the fox praising the
construction of the Hen House.

Oh,so you're still suffering from short term memory loss, huh?
Pity!
UPDATE: Bob's retired from HP a while ago!
Oops!

....I am not saying it is not a good printer

....cause you don't have any idea...right?

much better fox/chicken analogy don't you?

Any reason you wouldn't be buying a newer one? The 72,73, & 7410
models have been superceeded by the Officejet Pro J series. These
newer ones offer especially high page yields and some additional
features.

What additional features? The Officejet 7410 series was based on the
DeskJet 6520 printer and appears much more robust than the J5780. The
Officejet 7410 is rated for a maximum 5000 pages per month compared to the
3000 pages max rating for the J5780. The 96 and 97 cartridges deliver about
the same page yield as the 74XL and 75XL (slightly more for black, slightly
less for color).
