tell microsoft to give us something like webroots spy sweeper and give it to
us for free.

Windows Defender will be a free product to all licensed Windows XP users and
it will be bundled with next version of Windows. I don't think it will be
similar to Vista but suspect it will be better. It will be enabled as system
service, integration with Windows Update, and it will remove Sonys DRM
Rootkit plus many other cool stuff. :)

I'd prefer MSAS (aka MS Defender) to generate less false positives than
Spysweeper. You can waste a lot of time wading through the registry and
files looking for what supposedly triggered the alert (according to their
manual eradication instructions) only to find out that the pest they claim
that you have is nowhere on your system.
