The 1st time I open word, I get "Command cannot be performed because a dialog
box is open". If I click through this, I get a dialog box that says "Word
experienced an error trying to open the file. Try these suggestions. *Check
file permissions for the document or drive. *Make sure there is enough free
memory and disk space. *Open the file with the Text recovery converter".
If I click through this, the file opens ok, and as long as I leave word
running, I can open other files without the annoyance of these little boxes.
I have tried disabling Nortons plug-in for Office, and I have tried renaming
Normal.dot to Normal.old (as per other posts for this symptom).
