Combining XP Pro installation diskettes onto bootable install CD

Todd

Hi all,

I am sure this has been covered before.. I have the XP
pro CD (non bootable) and the six setup diskettes. I
would like to incorporate the setup diskettes onto the CD
so I can boot directly frrm there. Can someone please
tell me how to do this? Also, would like to include SP2
(slipstream) when it is available.

Thanks!!!

The Windows XP CD is already bootable and attempting to
slipstream the six setup disks is not going to make it any
more bootable. Open your BIOS and adjust the drive boot
order so the CD Drive is shown as the first bootable device.

If the XP CD you have is non-bootable, then it is most likely pirated.
Also there are many pages on the web the explain how to make a
bootable slipstreamed Windows CD, whether it be Win2k or WinXP -
Google Searches turn up wonders.

Greetings --

All legitimate WinXP installation CDs are bootable. Where'd you
get yours?

The CD is a copy of a completly legal version of Windows
XP PRo with a legal, valid key. The boot loader, et. al.
seems to be missing from the disk. Are the setup files
contained on the 6 diskettes in one of the subfolders on
the CD like "i386" by default or are they external to any
folder.

Thanks!
