Combining the best of RA and RD

I use Remote Desktop a lot to log into clients machines to fix their
computers remotely. This has has been a tremendous time saver. RD is so easy
to connect. However, sometimes I need to show the client on how to do certain
things on their XP Pro machine so I use Remote Assistance. With RA, both the
client and I can see the screen. My question is can I combine the visible
screen feature of RA with the connectivity method of RD. I hate having to do
a few extra steps just to initiate an RA session.

I want to use something that is already built into Windows. Is there like a
registry hack where I can pull the veil off a RD session so that once I have
logged in via RD, the client can also see what I am doing? This will kill two
birds with one stone IMHO. I am aware of a change in the GP that allows me to
log into an account via RD without having that account to have a password. I
will never do this unless it's for a class demonstration for it saves me the
step of entering the password. However, I see no security hole in allowing
people on the remote machine to see what I am doing during a RD sesssion
because the other person is on the phone with me so I know that he is
physically there.

There is an UNSUPPORTED registry hack that was available during the XP SP2
beta days that would do what you want, ie. allow concurrent Remote Desktop
access to a standalone XP desktop. Its still out there if you search. I have
never used it so I can't say how well it works or if it doesn't work. Again
its UNSUPPORTED so as always...YMMV...
