Combining Protected Word Documents

Apparently there is no way to combine 2 protected Word documents, say one
sheet of labels added to another sheet of similar labels, without
re-protecting the resulting document. This appears to be because the only
way to combine documents in Word is with Insert, File on an empty template.
You cannot apparently bring the two documents together unless the empty
template is unprotected, and that seems to unprotect the documents you bring
in!
Does anybody have a way around this? Thanks.

Use a macro to insert then reprotect them.
Why do you need to protect sheets of labels?

If you'd be happy to have the documents linked, you could use an INCLUDETEXT field pointing to the document to be embedded - just
make sure to use the \! switch in the INCLUDETEXT field.

I apologize. I did not make my application clear. Among many other
electronic materials, I will be sending out single-sheet, custom, label
templates to certain volunteer organizations across the state. Each (large)
label in the template is a complex table with logos, a mission statement,
another statement and a return address (all protected) and space for entry of
a complete shipping address, the organization's name, and a number (all
unprotected). Each organization will be filling out many labels for
electronic submission back to me. It would be nice if an organization, which
generates several completed label sheets, could combine those sheets into one
Word document and submit that to me without unprotecting the protected
aspects of the labels, as a few errant keystrokes by the unknowing on those
otherwise protected aspects can quickly generate a grade-A mess. Currently,
I will be having each organization successively number (in the filename) each
produced label-sheet document, and submit these individual documents back to
me for me to combine, but I was looking for a simple alternative to be used
by the organization on its end.
