Hello,
I have to combine several MS-Access 97/2003 databases into 1 database for
web access.
The databases sit on an Windows XP system.
Can ANY tell me the "best" suggestions for doing this correctly, or point me
to some examples???

Thank you,

You seem to be asking two questions.

(1) What is the best way to combine several databases?

Hard to say, unless you tell us more about those databases. Do they all
have the same tables, or different tables? What exactly do you mean by
"combine"? You could easily pick one of those databases, and then use
File : Get external data (or whatever it is) to copy-in all the objects
from the other databases. Is that what you mean by "combine"?

(2) What is the best way to have web access to a database?

Again, hard to say, without more information. Will the database have
one simultaneous user, or several? Or thousands? Will there be a
maximum of 1 query per second, or 100? Or 1 query per day? Would you
expect the forms to work the same way that they do when you use the
database locally? Access (or really, the database component MS Jet)
might be ok in certain web based situations, but not in others. We
can't possibly say, unless you give more information.

1) screw MS for web development
2) use Dreamweaver-- the wizards are wonderful
3) never use MDB for anything; that is just stupid
4) MSDE is a free version of SQL Server; much much much better solution

Ok, I though we had agreed to cease hostilities. I would stop getting
into you, if you stopped slagging-off MDBs.

Have you changed your mind? Would you like it to go back to how it was
before?

no we were just agreing to be more polite.

and your people are still slamming ADP anyways.

You've broken the whole agreement completely.

I conclude, that there's no point trying to communicate with you, at
all.

oh is a sissy little MVP not going to talk to me?

OH ARE YOU SCARED OF ADP?

OH ARE YOU SCARED OF A LITTLE TSQL?

grow up kid; just because you sing the praises of a crappy database--
it doesn't mean that you are MOST or VALUABLE or a PROFESSIONAL
