The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal
processing. HRESULT was 80080005 from line 44 of
d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact
Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

How do I fix it. THe support center isn't helping.

Thanks,

Barb Reinhardt

Have you checked your System Event Log for errors ?
Click Start, Run (Type) EventVwr.Msc [Enter]
Select System Event log and check the Right pane for red icons
that denote errors. Double Clicking each entry will bring up the
details box with a brief description and Event ID #.

Um ... how do I enable the service?

EventSystem Event ID 4609

Happens because the COM+ Event System service is disabled.

Enable the service.

Can also be DCOM Service Process Launcher service not running.

See also...

Open Services...
Start | Run | Type: services.msc | Click OK |
Scroll down to and double click COM+ Event System |
Set Startup type to Automatic | Click Apply | Click the
Start button to start the service | Click OK | Close
Services

Same for DCOM Service Process Launcher if not running and set to Automatic.
