Columns in tasks

We have customised the columns in tasks so that we can see which tasks are
for which project, is there a way of putting this box into the same window
where you set up a task so that it does not get forgotten about, or is there
a better way to do this?

You can customize the form: Open a task form, and click
Tools/Formulars/Customize this form.
