colour is driving me mad !!!

have just put new black ink cartridge in my dell printer .colour ink is
nearly out and could not get a new one today. all text is printing in
red and images are a pale pink and orange only.dont understand why text
is red though .anyone help pleeeeeeze.

Some printer, or some printing setting, could use color inks to print black
( black = cyan + mangenta + yellow ). Check your printer setting, there may
be a setting to use black ink only.

So if one or two of them is out, black will appears as color.
