Color laser printer pick

Jos? Le?a

I want to buy a color laser printer with separate color toners, at
least 2 input trays, Ethernet interface and duplex mode.

I'm thinking about one of these models:
- EPSON Aculaser 1900D
- OKI Colour 7300DN
- HP Color Laser Jet 3700dn

I would like some help to make my decision.

Thanks.

There is a new Samsung (IIRC) that has a duplex it was reviewed in the
UK in the April edition of either PC Pro of PC Plus.

Alternatively you may like to look at Xerox's Phasers which will provide
glossier output and true Postcript.

Just last week I purchased a colour laser. My choice was between the Epson
1900PS, OKI C5300, Minolta QMS2350 and Xerox 8200 (this one being a solid ink
printer rather than a laser). I submitted a test file to each of the
manufacturers for printing and after comparison opted for the Epson.
The OKI produced good text but colour graphics exhibited distinct banding.
The Xerox was very enticing as it's offered at a great price but colour
fidelity wasn't on a par with the lasers. Also the machine must be switched
on all the time to avoid severe ink wastage.
The QMS and Epson produced almost identical results. What clinched the choice
for me was that the Epson has genuine Adobe PostScript whereas the QMS is
emulated and therefore considerably slower with complex PostScript files.
I'm quite happy with the Epson.

I find the colour fidelity on my Phaser 8200 much better and more
consistent than my previous QMS 2200
The QMS and Epson produced almost identical results.

I think they both have the same print engine.
