Normally, the new unread mail in Inbox is represented by a numeric in blue
text. What's does numeric in green text mean? Is there any other color that
means something also?

That's the number of items in total. Right click on the folder, choose
Properties, and select either "Show number of unread items" or "Show total
number of items" (or somethign similar).
