color balance problem with Canon BJC-6000

My old, trusty print head died on my BJC-6000 after about 3 years of
use. I ordered a new one, it came in the mail & I installed it, put the
ink tanks in & I've had a problem with excessive yellow ever since. I
don't get red, it's orange. I don't get blue, it's blue-green. Even if
I display my image in a graphics program & take out a LOT of yellow
using the color balance control, when it prints, there's STILL excess
yellow. Sometimes, it's so bad that gray (when it should be jetting
only black ink) has a yellow cast!

Anybody else have a similar problem, & what did you do? Buy another new
print head & hope that one's not defective? And yeah, I'm using an
official Canon brand ink cartridge.

Thanks!

If you cannot get rid of the problem with 2 or 3 head cleans then I suggest you
ask the supplier for a replacement printhead since that is the most likely
cause.
Of course you use OEM ink, not that it would make any difference to your
problem, but you have been good and listened to our resident troll <lots of big
grins>
Good luck.
