code 12 error

Hello
Installed a creative sb X-FI --> got a 'code 12' on my GEforce 7800 GS : not
enough free resources

Have latest drivers, flashed my bios, new install of xp : nothing helps
specs:
Win Xp SP2
PIV 3.0 ; 2 GiG DDR
Any ideas? Tnx

Try putting the sound card in a different PCI slot.

There is an IRQ conflict between the two cards. Normaly moving the sound
card takes care of that. Those cards can work together just fine so
check with either Nvidia tech support, their forums, or Creative tech
support, etc.

Perhaps the information under "CM_PROB_NORMAL_CONFLICT" here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/245386/ can provide a bit of
information, the article is written for Windows 2000 but it also applies
to XP. Verify in the BIOS that IRQ's are not reserved for legacy ISA
devices.
