cmos battery weak - replaced

Upon boot up, I get the message that the cmos battery is weak, so I replaced
with a new one. In less than a day, the same message appears again that the
cmos battery is weak. While I am in the process of getting another battery
from another place, just wondering if there is a bigger problem behind the
message, thanks

This is not a Windows issue. Check with the motherboard mftr. or if you
have an OEM machine (Dell, HP, etc.) check with the OEM's tech support.
Yes, it indicates a problem with the motherboard.

There is either a problem with your motherboard or that battery was
waiting in the vendor's shelf for many years and had been discharged
meanwhile. Not a Windows issue anyway.

That is a nice BIOS you have there. Most won't tell you that your
battery is weak. The only sign you get is your clock starts running
faster when off and disconnected from the main power source. Then the
setup and the clock stops running when it is too late.

Nor did I say you were! I was just adding to your comments. We in
Internetland do that all of the time. Deal and live with it! And have a
nice day! :)

Shmonsense! If you're not smart enough to reply to the right person,
keep your fingers away from the keyboard!

Look you little baby! You replied to bb202 and I replied to bb202,
adding comments that you (Detlev Dreyer) did. And you (Detlev Dreyer) is
not smart enough to see that. And you can't even name the OP by name.
And have a nice day!

You got it backwards Detlev Dreyer! I've been on the Internet since 1983
when I had an account from UOI. And I have never met such a bad person
as you in my life online.

It said it was rejected. I shut down Outlook Express and the problem
disappeared when I restarted. It was trying to send it as an email, but
it was to the group. One of those fubars. We will not see it again for
about 10 years. ;)

Really Uncle Grumpy? You have no idea what you are talking about. Do you
Uncle Grumpy? If so, try the best that you can. And I assure you, you
won't have a chance. I personally believe people who make false
accusations about others should be tired and hung. What do you think
Uncle Grumpy? :)
