How do you STOP IE6 w/sp2 from closing unused folders &
links in your favorites folder. I have went under
tools/internet options/advanced and unchecked the "close
unused folders in history and favorites" box and restarted
has been over 2 weeks but IE still closes (hides) folders
and links, but they don't even have to be unused, I can
just have went to a site back out go back to the favorites
folder and where this links was is hid! HELP!

Also all of a sudden today IE stopped greying out links
you have clicked on a site so you know where you have
been. Need help with that too.

Thanks,

David

Hi,
Deleting the History folder should solve the "visited links" problem. Follow
the appropriate (for your OS) instructions at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Next in Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing, uncheck "Enable personalized
Favorites menu."

Hope this helps,
Don

Unchecking the "Enable Personalized Favorites Menu"
cleared that up I think, but the other didn't help the
visited links problem though.

Thanks, for your input and help.

Hi,
Check your settings in Internet Options> General> Colors. Do you have
different colors for visited and unvisited?

Did deleting the History folder appear to actually delete the folder? If
using XP, did you delete the proper History folder?

Don

I went back and redeleted everything again and set the
days to keep pages in history from 99 to 14. Now it seems
to be working again.
