Why is it everytime I need to restart the computer I get the dialog box that
states "Please close all Microsoft Office applications before shutting down
the system." Why can't outlook shut itself down like any other program?

thanks

What version of Outlook are you using? Do you have ActiveSync or something
like that running that may be plugged into Outlook? Are you using Word as
your e-mail editor?

I did have Word as my e-mail editor. I unchecked the box and that took care
of the problem.

thanks
