Closing Document

I'm running Office XP with all the latest service packs
from the office update. When closing any document that
doesn't get saved, Excel will hang for 45 seconds before
responding normally again. I've tried recreating the
profile for the user. When the users notebook isn't
connected to the network this doesn't seem to happen.
Any other ideas?
